What to Expect

A clear sense of the path ahead.

Reaching out for counseling can feel like a big step. Here's a look at what working together actually looks like — so the unknown feels a little smaller.

  1. 01

    Reaching out

Send a message or give a call. We'll exchange a few notes about what you're looking for and find a time that fits your week.

  2. 02

    The first session

Our first hour is unhurried. You share what brings you in — at the pace that feels right — and I listen. We get a feel for working together and talk through what you'd like to move toward.

  3. 03

    Settling into a rhythm

Most clients meet weekly or every other week. Some sessions feel like uphill work, others bring rest. Both belong on the path.

  4. 04

    Reflecting and adjusting

Every so often we step back to notice what's shifting and what's still asking for attention. The work bends to your story, not the other way around.

Common questions

How long is a session?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged when needed.

In-person or virtual?

Both. The Rock Hill office is open for in-person sessions, and secure video sessions are available across South Carolina.

How do I know if it's a fit?

The first session is as much for you to get a feel for me as the other way around. There's no obligation to continue.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Yes — with the standard legal exceptions (risk of serious harm to self or others, abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult, court order). We'll cover this in the first session.

Ready when you are.

Pick a time that works, or send a note first — whichever feels easier.
